Ningxia Lamb, fed with Chinese herbal medicine and mineral water, boast delicate meat, well-proportioned fat, a smooth texture, and a smooth, non-dry, non-woody texture. It contains no decanoic acid, has no fishy or muttony notes, and is incredibly delicious.
Ningxia possesses unique natural conditions suitable for the growth of Lamb:
First, its temperate continental climate is controlled year-round by continental air masses, resulting in large annual and daily temperature ranges, cold winters and hot summers, year-round drought and little rain, with precipitation relatively concentrated in the summer. This is conducive to the accumulation of nutrients in pastures, and world-renowned livestock-developed countries and regions, as well as high-quality cattle and sheep breeding sources, are located in the relevant areas.
Second, the soil is slightly alkaline, mainly in the form of desert steppe and dry grassland, with gray-calcium soil and light gray-calcium soil, and low in organic matter.
Third, the region is rich in grassland resources, growing 175 varieties of high-quality forage grasses and more than 30 Chinese herbal medicines, such as licorice, bitter beans, astragalus, ephedra, and pepper flowers.
Fourth, the Yellow River flows through the region, and the water is weakly phytic and rich in sulfur, phosphorus, and calcium, earning it the reputation of a veritable mineral water.
China Ningxia Lamb are concentrated in Yinchuan, Shizuishan, and the counties and districts under the jurisdiction of Wuzhong in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The vast eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains offer a flat, barren expanse, ideal for breeding.
